The GodfatherBased on the best-selling novel by Mario Puzo (who co-wrote the screenplay with director Francis Ford Coppola), The Godfather tells an epic tale of Mafia life in America during the 1940s and 1950s.An assassination attempt on Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) leaves the Don too ill to run the family business, forcing his sons, Sonny (James Caan), Michael (Al Pacino) and Tom Hagen (Rober Duvall) to lead the Corleones into a vendetta-filled war with the other mob families.
One of the greatest movies of all time. Fantastic storyline, and great performances by all the principal actors. Checkout The Godfather: Part II as well. Almost as good as the first. Not sure about the third installment however. Sophia Coppola give perhaps the worst performance I've ever seen!
