Wisdom
I was quite into the "Brat Pack" films of the 80's. This is a relatively unknown film starring Emilio Estevez (son of Martin Sheen) & Demi Moore. Estevez plays John Wisdom, who struggles to find a job since getting a criminal record for joyriding/drink- driving. After numerous knockbacks from potential employers, the story follows Wisdom as he decides to become a "criminal for the people". He travels the country with his girlfriend (Moore) forcing banking staff - at gunpoint - to help him burn mortgage documents; hoping that his actions will help, by delaying bank foreclosures, and giving the struggling property owners more time to pay their loans off.

Trivia

  • Charlie Sheen, star Estevez’s brother, has a cameo as the hamburger restaurant manager.
  • John Wisdom (Estevez) can be seen on a bus adorned with the graffiti “Plate O’ Shrimp”, a reference to “Repo Man” (1984), which also starred Estevez.
  • The film made Estevez, at 23, the youngest person to ever write, direct and star in a major film.
  • The film is dedicated to the memory of Henry Proach, who has a small role, and who was a good friend of Estevez.
